Angela Slate, MSIDT
With an undergraduate Advertising degree, I entered the corporate world as a marketing professional with specialties in graphic design and event planning. It was during one of these events that I discovered my love of working with children and decided to go back to school for my teaching credential.
With both a multiple- and single-subject teaching credential, I have a total of over 15 years of teaching K12 students under my belt. While holding titles such as Curriculum Specialist, Induction Coach, Department Head, Master Tech Teacher, and Testing Lead, I have had many opportunities to train other teachers in a wide variety of topics. These have included topics including, but not limited to, incorporating new technology, analyzing test data, effective teaching strategies, and matching lessons to objectives.
This brought me to the third phase of my career in which I discovered my love of training teachers. This was confirmed and deepened through the Masters of Instructional Design program at CSU, Fullerton. I discovered that Instructional Design allows me to combine all 3 of my strongest skills: technology, design, and teaching.
After graduating from my Master's Program, I continued my education at the University of San Diego and obtained a Certificate in Professional Development Facilitation and Leadership for Educators.

My Process
I am knowledgeable in both the SAM and ADDIE models. If neither is requested, I will use ADDIE. I also practice inclusivity by incorporating the sub strategies of Inclusive ADDIE within the overall ADDIE process. Additionally, I use the 5 core questions of Designing for Diversity to guide equitable and inclusive instruction.
